UNDERSTANDING & PREPARING A SPECIFICATION DOCUMENT

TRAINING COURSE FOR BUILDING CONTRACTORS

A building specification is a written document that clearly defines the materials, products, workmanship standards, construction methods, and compliance requirements for a residential building project. It complements the architectural drawings by removing ambiguity, ensuring quality control and enabling accurate pricing. On many building projects a specification is not available making it difficult for the contractor to calculate costs and creates misunderstandings during construction. This training course helps contractors understand the contents of a specification and how to write specifications if required.
