The MBA North Annual Awards Dinner took place on 06 June in Klerksdorp. This year, the association partnered with the Wesvaal Chamber of Business and themed the Dinner, ‘Future Opportunities in Matlosana’.
Two major developers in the province, Dr Khunou, Executive Director at Isago @ N12 Development Pty. Ltd., a Property Development company and Mr. Nhlanhla Nkala, Founder of MXN Development Construction presented the upcoming developments in Klerksdorp, some of which are already underway.
Dr Khunou challenged attendants to get organised and join an Association or Business Chamber. ‘Business needs to make a decision to take back development decisions from Politicians and become a true mouthpiece of business developments’ Dr Khunou presented 1114 hectares of development land in the East of Klerksdorp anchored by the Matlosana Mall representing opportunities for local & national contractors.
Mr Nkala stated, ‘Klerksdorp is booming and we need to work together to bring South Africa together’. He presented his development of 504 hectares of land to the West of Klerksdorp, where he is building 9500 units and has already started with the first phase.
Mr Motlatsi Lesley Makhetha, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality presented the 5 year radical Economic transformation plan from the municipality with opportunities in Mining, Agriculture, Manufacturing, Construction and Tourism.
Mr Kgotso Mmadi, President of the Wesvaal Chamber of Business stated that a partnership between the Chamber and Master Builders Association would result in more opportunities for members of the two organisations. The Chamber will be hosting a delegation of Developers from Namibia on 28 July 2017 as well as another from Poland in September that will bring international opportunities to Local business.
